‘Tis The Season For One-Of-A-Kind Advent Calendars

It’s November! Hopefully you were able to take part in Red Barn Mercantile’s Holiday Unveiling last week or you’ll be able to stop in soon to have a look at our winter wonderland! Filling our shelves (and trees!) with holiday treasures is always a joyful blur.

There is so much to see in the shops and on our websites right now, but we want to make sure you don’t miss this year’s Advent calendars. They’re not just for kiddos anymore! Although, we do have a few that definitely are for the kids. Whether you want something simple, or something loaded with sweet surprises, we've got 'em!

We love a daily ritual and we really, really love the holidays. Advent calendars are a fun December ritual for kids and adults to pace the Christmas countdown and build up holiday anticipation. We found some really, really wonderful options this year that we’re so excited to share with you.

We have several options that all double as darling decorations, and a few that have extra special surprises inside. Some surprises are edible and some will last for years to come.

First up, Penny Post! New this year is The Art of Chocolate Advent Calendar from Coco. We love everything about it! This calendar has delicious chocolate for days and the prettiest candy wrappers in the world. All of their packaging is beautiful, created by artists, and so very giftable – if you’re willing to part with the chocolate!

Diamine’s Inkvent calendar is loaded with 25 bottles of surprise ink, all being never-before-seen new colors from Diamine. McCrea’s highly acclaimed Caramel Calendar is another one we can’t ever seem to keep in stock, for very good reason. And last but not least, the Letterpress Pop-Out Calendar is a sweet little (non-edible) gingerbread house to keep on your shelf.

Red Barn Mercantile has an incredibly sweet collection as well, with some that can be passed down for generations! If you’re looking to spoil any littles this year, we have three suitcase-style Advent calendars that are sure to delight — one with wooden holiday village figures, one with charm necklace accessories, and another with dinosaurs! All are sure to provide joy through the holiday season. And if you know someone who loves puzzles and/or Harry Potter – buckle up. Twenty-five 100-piece Harry Potter puzzles make up this magical Harry Potter Advent Calendar.

Whether you’re looking for a classic pop-out style countdown calendar or something with a little (a lot) more flair, Penny Post and Red Barn Mercantile have you covered! Happy shopping and happy, happy holidays to you and yours.
