From Coffee To Gardens: The Latest And Greatest In Alexandria's Spring Scene

We always look forward to sharing the latest happenings in Alexandria with you, whether it's new listings, upcoming events, or must-try restaurants. Here are a few new local spots and upcoming spring events we're excited about!

Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii

The popular Hawaii coffee chain has opened its first Northern Virginia location in the Eisenhower/Carlyle area of Alexandria, near Hoffman Center. Find Bad Ass Coffee at 2466 Mandeville Lane on the ground floor of the Foundry building. In addition to their signature coffee blends and 100% Kona coffee, they also serve sandwiches, bakery items, and smoothies. Don't miss their signature lattes served with their famous ice cubes! Visit Bad Ass Coffee from 7am-7pm Monday-Friday, 7am-8pm Saturdays, and 8am-5pm on Sundays.

Zen Press Juice Bar

Zen Press has recently moved to Old Town and is now open at 806 King Street! This juice bar and cafe serves cold-pressed juices, juice cleanses, smoothie bowls, toasts, and other breakfast options that are vegetarian and vegan-friendly. Check out their menu on their website. They say “A little zen press a day keeps the doctor away!”

Elaine's Modern Mediterranean

Elaine’s Modern Mediterranean will replace Bilbo Baggins. While an opening date has not been announced yet, if you walk by, you can already see the space has been transformed! Elaine’s is located right next to Momo Sushi at 208 Queen Street, just a block from Founder’s Park and the water. It will surely be a great date night spot!

90th Annual Historic Garden Week

This spring marks the 90th Historic Garden Week presented by the Garden Club of Virginia! On April 15, Virginia Garden week comes to Alexandria and presents five Old Town gardens to the public. Tickets are $55/person, and the gardens will be open for self-guided tours from 10am to 4pm on April 15. Click here to learn more.

American Horticultural Society Spring Garden Market

More spring fun! On Friday, April 14, and Saturday, April 15, the Spring Garden Market will return to River Farm and present a two-day plant sale and gardening marketplace. Entry is $5, and parking is $20 per car. The market will have native plants, specialty plants, herbs, garden-themed art, books, tools, and garden accessories. Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour the Manor House at River Farm. Find tickets and more info here.
