Upholstery Sale Design: Lindsay Boudreaux
As promised, I’m thrilled to highlight one of our other design partners, Lindsay Boudreaux of Shotgun Double. As many of you know, Lindsay helped me with my kitchen and bath renovations a few years ago and she helped design Penny Post. Currently, she is designing the new Old Town Books space and I can’t wait to see it. For sneak peeks behind her work, make a beeline to Instagram and start following her. She really has a talent for making a space truly special. Her creativity, thoughtfulness, space planning prowess, and calm and delightful nature make her a dream to work with.A native of New Orleans, Lindsay’s hometown really shines in this particular design. I am crazy head over heels for the wallpaper she chose. It really sets the tone for the entire look. Lindsay never met a plant she didn’t like, and her favorite Army green jacket has been the inspiration for more than one project we’ve done together. (Psssst, the green wall at Penny Post.) I’m excited to highlight her many talents here and share her process with you in her own words.“For this design I looked to a few main themes for inspiration. Obviously, nature is a big one here, as evidenced by the botanical wallpaper, pineapple coffee table, and earthy textures in the table lamp and mirror. But I was also inspired by the late Julia Reed’s estate, which is currently up for auction – there’s more than a hint of that Southern decadence and charm at play. Greens seem to be really big these days, and as it is one of my favorite colors, I’m always looking for fun ways to incorporate it into my designs. The nightstand in Moss is really a showpiece! Pulling little pops of color from the wallpaper, I love layering patterns with a common color theme as throw pillows, and Walter G makes it easy and fun to do just that with these Marigold pillows. A Persimmon-colored pouf adds a casual touch, and the handmade floor lamp is a stylish, functional piece for even the smallest of homes. As anyone who knows me will attest, I’m no fan of winter, so this design feels to me like a way to keep the lushness of spring and summer year-round (As a native New Orleanian, it’s those tropical vibes I miss the most, especially in these pandemic times!)”
