Westman Atelier this Spring

There are many things I love at Bellacara. There just are. But one thing you all know I love is Westman Atelier. I love it for so many reasons, the most important being the way it performs, but not insignificant to this admiration is the beauty of its packaging. Call me superficial, but I love pretty things. So, when I can have a product that performs beautifully and looks elegant…I’m sold. Add to that the fact that it’s clean beauty and put a fork in me… I’m done. When Westman launched at Bellacara over a year ago, I was beyond excited to bring it to Old Town. Do you ever have those moments when you think… wow, I guess I’ve arrived? That’s how it felt. I have toiled for the past 20 plus years to get lines to notice me. To take a chance on a small boutique and trust that I can sell their product. Sure, over the years, I’ve gone from begging lines to sell to me to turning lines away left and right. But there are still those lines that seem ever-elusive and (like once upon a time the super cute boys at school) never seem like they’ll pay me attention.

 Westman Atelier founder, Gucci Westman

When I approached (okay stalked hard) Westman Atelier, I expected to be told, “thanks, but no thanks.” I was lucky enough to know the group that represented them and within minutes of sending a request via chat on their website, I had a text from the rep. I had no idea they were representing the brand. I was just lucky enough to have dealt with the group before. Within minutes I was texting photos of the store and pleading my case. Not even a day later, I got the call. “I have good news,” she said. “They like your store; you’re in.”If I could do a cartwheel, that’s what would have happened next, but instead I just jumped around my kitchen saying thank you and I’m going to do the very best job I can. We didn’t even have the brand a year when Covid hit, so of course, I am doing my best, but times are what they are. Still, for those of you who have supported me and the brand over the past year, I would like to say thank you again. It has been difficult for them as well. Their products are made in Europe and the supply chain has created struggles and significant backorders. Can we all say mascara???  I know. It’s not funny. I feel your pain. For those of you who have persevered, the mascara is due back next week. It’s going to be okay. The rest of the stock should be in by March and then things are expected to get back to normal.  Along with backorders, the slated new launches were also delayed. There hasn’t been much newness until now. Two new shades of the Lit Stick have arrived. One is a slightly peachy pink color called Nectar and is beautiful on lighter skin tones. The second is a warmer tone called Brulee and works well on tanned or darker skin tones. I actually love both of them. I think I’ll use the Brulee over my self-tanner in the summer. If you love the Lit Stick, you have to take a look at these. You’ll want one in your cosmetic bag. There will be new launches of other items coming this spring, so stay tuned. We appreciate you bearing with us during these stock backorders and promise great new things to come very soon!
