The attorneys of Family First Law Group have been practicing in the Northern Virginia area, including Alexandria, Fairfax, Arlington, Loudoun and Prince William for several decades. We founded the Family First Law Group in 2020 to focus on personal service to individuals, families and their businesses. Our attorneys have a commitment to our clients and to our community. We help build the foundation of a strong community by assisting the families and businesses in our community with their diverse needs.

We collaborate with and assist our clients and their families at every stage, be it major life changes, setting up and managing a business, or planning for the future. Our attorneys advise clients to develop and reach legal goals, plan for their needs, and meet the challenges of litigation.

About Katelin Moomau, a founding Partner at Family First Law Group, PLLC

Before practicing law, Katelin worked for Maryland Legislative Services. She graduated from McDaniel College Magna Cum Laude in 2004, and Catholic University Columbus School of Law in 2008. She has practiced law since passing the bar in 2008. Katelin primarily practices family law, estate planning, estate administration and transactional business law for small businesses. She is currently the General Counsel for the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce and volunteers with ACT for Alexandria and the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria for fundraising events.

She is also a member of the Fairfax Bar Association, Diversity Conference and Equality Virginia. In 2020, she was named one of Alexandria’s 40 Under 40 by the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce. She was also voted a Super Lawyer Rising Star by her peers and is a Northern Virginia Top Attorney for 2021, 2022, 2023. She formerly chaired the Alexandria Lawyer Referral Service Committee and won the LRS Attorney of the year in 2020.

Katelin was involved with the Campagna Center since 2009, serving various roles for the Board of the Junior Friends, including EDC Chair, Secretary, Chair Bowties and Belles, Vice, Chair and Chair Ex-Officio. She won the Barbra Pratt Heart of Gold Award in 2020 for her service to the Campagna Center. Katelin has served on the bylaws committee and assisted The Campagna Center in a number of other ways. In addition to donating her time at The Campagna Center, she previously mentored fellows for the Mount Vernon Leadership Program and volunteered in their greenhouse, volunteered for the Fairfax Law Foundation and volunteered for a number of other organizations over the years.

Katelin states her community service really started in Elementary School when her Mother would rope her into all sorts of volunteer activities, such as handing out information and painting faces at the local fairs to benefit Wellness Together, or being a Crash test Dummy or Apple in a parade to promote healthy living. But Katelin learned from that age that you make wonderful friends and lifelong connections through service to your community and has been continuing ever since.
