2 Shoes, 2 Ways (Or, How To Wear Those Not-So-Practical Shoes You Just Had To Have)
When I head to market there are two ways I select shoes to go in our store. The first is when I see something and think to myself, “I would wear that all the time.” I am a true believer in versatility. The second is when I have an emotional reaction to something and think the total opposite: “I have no idea why I would ever need to own those but for some reason I must have them.” I guess we could call that a Carrie Bradshaw moment. Know what I mean? That fleeting instant when you think you have the life where you can run around all day in tulle, fur, and high heels? Then reality hits and you think, okay, now I need to figure out how to wear these things. This pre-fall we have two very impulse-driven shoes. I admit both are already in my closet as we speak. The glitter booties from Veronica Beard seem like they are challenging but I have worn them constantly. They are also comfortable; I have worked all day in them. They might not be work appropriate for everyone, but for weekends and going out they could not be more fun.Next up is a pair of yellow satin mules with ostrich feathers by Tory Burch. These shoes are like no others in your closet. A true statement shoe, you almost find an event to wear them to instead of waiting on one to hit your calendar. Just make sure it isn’t raining!
