2021 Holiday Unveiling At Red Barn Mercantile

Our favorite night of the year is just around the corner! Red Barn Mercantile's Holiday Unveiling will take place Thursday, November 4. Once again, this year's Unveiling will look a bit different than the bursting-at-the-seams parties of yesteryear, but our winter wonderland will be just as magical as always. Starting at 6pm on November 4, our doors will open (to a limited number of guests), our holiday treasures will appear online, and everything on redbarnmercantile.com and shoppennypost.com will be up to 30 percent off!

As it turns out, it felt especially good to decorate, fill stockings, send care packages, and transform our own homes for the holidays last year. Finding little joys during hard times is all we can do, and we are still in need of every last bit of delight we can get our hands on.

The shipping obstacles are very real this year, as I'm sure you've heard. Delays and shortages are inevitable. However, we placed our holiday orders months ago so that our Unveiling could be even bigger than last year's. (We've had to get very creative in hiding things until the big reveal!) That said, it will be harder to restock this year, so if you have your heart set on that Fauci ornament, scoop him up!

No matter the challenges, the thrill of transforming the shop is one of our greatest joys. Decorations, gifts, stocking stuffers (Jellycats!), and ornaments galore have been spilling in, and we've already snuck a few items into our kid's section.

Limited in-store shopping appointments are available. Please note that if you make an appointment, that appointment is for you and you alone. If you'd like to shop with friends, you'll all need to make an appointment for the same time slot.

If you aren't able to shop in person, rest assured, you will be able to shop the sale online again this year. We are working diligently behind the scenes (and all over the store, pardon our mess) to make this year's Unveiling really special.

Typically, the discount you pull at Red Barn Mercantile can be used over at Penny Post. This year, Penny Post will not be open during the party, but you will be able to pick a discount on their newly designed website!

We hope you all can join in the festivities, whether it's bopping around the shop or sitting in front of your computer with a glass of wine, blasting Christmas music. We are so grateful for your support and hope to see you all soon. And if you're joining us virtually, be sure to catch the Instagram Live tour of the store at 6pm so you can see it in all of its holiday glory!

Owner Amy Rutherford started Red Barn because she wanted to deliver a service — to provide both old and new in one place. No longer will busy shoppers be limited to reproductions or forced to shop multiple flea markets for the look or gifts they want. The trick in blending old and new, vintage and modern, classic and quirky, is balance. And Amy’s knack for mixing rustic antiques with urban chic has created a look that is both fresh and familiar.

Located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, Penny Post is an independent boutique specializing in custom stationery and wedding invitations. Inspired by the art of personal correspondence, the power of handwritten notes, and the smell of freshly printed stationery, we surround ourselves with quirky, hilarious, and classically beautiful things to make life a little brighter.
