8 Looks Perfect for New Year's Eve (No Matter What Your Plans Are)

Once upon a time, New Year’s Eve involved black tie attire or, at the very least, a dress. Now, we’ll see ladies rocking a sweater and jeans while watching the ball drop. This casual evolution is a conversation for another day; however, we felt it timely to bring you all sorts of different New Year’s Eve looks. No matter where you’re going or with whom you’re celebrating, we have some fabulous styling ideas in mind.

The Monochrome

Brochu Walker Sweater and Pants

If you have a favorite color, the best way to celebrate it is to wear all of it! A great way to add interest is through texture. Try a crepe pant with a cashmere sweater. For a dinner party or a night with the girls, you’re set!

Cropped Wide Leg Pants

Smythe Sweater and Apiece Apart Pants

These pants are everywhere! Most cropped wide leg pants are high waisted and look best on taller women with long torsos; those are the rules, but, as you can see above, I am short, with a short torso. If you’re like me, refrain from tucking in your top, wear heels, and you’ll pull the look off.

Pants that Pop

Elizabeth and James Sweater and Frame Jeans

We just got these gold metallic frame jeans in and they are so cool and look so awesome with a cream top. A little front tuck helps to highlight the waistline, while covering any trouble zones. Whenever you wear statement pants, just remember to make them casual to help balance them out.

Good Old Jeans

Denim is great for New Year’s Eve! A trendy favorite is the straight-legged cropped style. And just because jeans are cropped doesn’t mean they are always meant for warm weather. You can have so much fun in the winter by adding a sock boot and a cozy sweater.

Statement Blazer

A statement can be a pop of color, a pattern, or a fun embellishment. Pair your statement blazer with denim and you have a balanced outfit that is truly ready for any occasion. An elevated black tank top goes a long way, too. Add all three pieces to your wardrobe and they will go far.

Statement Blazer & Cropped Wide Leg Pants

Smythe Blazer, Gold Hawk Cami, Tara Jarmon Pants

This look screams elegance, especially when paired with dainty little heels. Your blazer will make a total statement when you wear items that do not compete with it. Sometimes black can be boring, so by purchasing interesting pieces you can keep things more fun and edgy.

Metallic

Go big or go home, right? This takes monochrome to the next level! Wearing the same texture and the same color is for the bold at heart and we love it; there’s no better time to go big than for New Year’s Eve! Toss a little black leather bomber over this and you are ready to go.

The Duster

Laura Siegel Duster, Frame Cami, and Good American Jeans

The ultimate cozy option is a duster. This is a great option for petites because it elongates your figure, especially when worn with a matching tank. Choosing a dark color is not only slimming, but it elevates the look. Wear this to a house party, dinner, or just cozying up in front of the fire! Whatever it is you decide to do for New Year’s Eve, have a happy one and wear something fabulous! Stop by TSALT for all of your holiday needs this season. We look forward to seeing you!
