A Passion for Figue

Boutiques are different from department stores by nature. Specialty shops were designed to offer an experience filled with a higher level of customer service and an environment filled with passion and emotion for beautiful clothing. Finding the correct balance of collections for a boutique takes a little trial and error. While some brands provide necessary solutions that are practical, other collections incorporate drama and desire. Two weeks ago Tamara and I visited the Figue showroom in New York. It’s safe to say, this experience did not disappoint.

from Figue:

"Our studio in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood is like entering into another world, with books, artwork and objets Stephanie has found around the world. Here, our Figue team runs the business, designs the collection and hosts shopping appointments."

Creative Director Stephanie von Watzdorf draws inspiration for Figue from her artistic and global heritage. She was born on the outskirts of Paris to a German-French father and a Russian mother and spent summers on the Mediterranean in Italy.

I came across Figue in late 2016 and was instantly drawn to the bohemian aesthetic. Upon reaching out to the brand, we received the electronic line sheets. The presentation of how the pieces were photographed was impeccable in my professional opinion (we’re two-for-two at this point).Of course, finding designers that are priced for your market is the critical part of being a successful buyer. Figue is on the higher end of the collections at TSALT. This means it has to earn its keep and resonate with the clients in order to continue to reside on the sales floor.

Consider this my call to action.

Figue makes sense for spring and summer as a boutique offering. Clients are heading to warm beach destinations for spring break and poolside barbecues soon follow. The TSALT team is now procuring fall collections and Figue looks ethnically rich with the addition of knits and rich colors. I’m asking that readers who love this story as much as I do: reach out to TSALT and support this emotional collection. If you would like more information or need help with how to incorporate global style into your own wardrobe, please feel free to reach out to me or ask the sales associates at TSALT.Here are a few styles you can expect to see for fall at TSALT...if FIGUE makes the cut. ;-) We would love your feedback.  While I could wax poetic on the new pieces that have arrived at TSALT, Stephanie can best present the inspiration behind the line and the spring collection:Finally, one of the special aspects of Figue are the one-of-a-kind utility jackets. For the first time, they are being offered to specialty store such as TSALT. Each one is different and the jackets are all authentic. They are an investment, for sure, starting at $1,580 but are quite the show-stopping pieces. As a stylist who embraces the emotional aspect of fashion, I would endorse a one-of-a-kind jacket such as this over a mass-produced version for the authenticity it possesses.“Every jacket has a history,” she says, “and we give them a new life to live through their next chapter.”[nemus_slider id="46619"]Figue represents the true passion of global artisans to me and I want nothing more than TSALT to build an enthusiastic following for this collection. Stay tuned as we will release at date for a late spring trunk show. If you would like to be on the invitation list, please contact info@tsaltstyle.com
