A Year in Review: The Highlights from 2025

As we wrap up 2025, we’re taking a moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate the moments that made this year memorable. From personal milestones to business wins and community impact, 2025 reminded us that progress often comes in many forms—sometimes loud and exciting, sometimes quietly meaningful. We asked our Stylebook contributors to share their highlights from the year. Here’s what they’re raising a glass to as we look to the year ahead.

Katelin, Family First Law Group:  Being named the Chamber's Best Small Business of 2025, Virginia Lawyer Weekly's Top Women Led Law Firm and Arlington Magazine's Top 50 Family Law Attorneys!

Danielle, fibre space: Our biggest highlight of 2025 was during the government shutdown. Together with a team of volunteers from our own community, we taught over 350 furloughed government employees and contractors how to knit, providing them with a lifelong stress relieving hobby. Our program was even highlighted in this NYT article!

Lauren, XML Financial Group: 2025 kicked off with cheering my Alma mater, Notre Dame, in both the Sugar and Orange bowl games. With such joyful memories, the year continued with a spring trip to campus and three home games in the fall — it’s been an unexpected ND themed year, and I have absolutely loved it!

Maria Elizabeth, Salon deZEN: Opening our second deZEN location in Old Town North was a big milestone for me this year. What mattered most, though, was watching our team rise to the moment and seeing our reach into the community grow right alongside it.

Angelika, Eliana Curated: Opening our Old Town Alexandria flagship store was the highlight of 2025, made even more special by expanding to Boston and being selected for a five-week residency at the Downtown DC Holiday Market.
