Actions Speak Louder Than Words…

If you’ve been reading my blogs, you’ve probably gathered that I have some pretty strong opinions on kids in sports and the importance of general training. To put it simply, I feel kids should strive to be well-rounded athletes and not just good at a single sport. It’s easy to sit behind a keyboard and opine about what kids and parents should and shouldn’t do, but it’s entirely another to do something about it. It’s for this reason we are offering a Summer Student Athlete Program at Fitness on the Run.Designed with a focus on functional training and with your student athlete in mind, FOR’s 5-week Summer Student Athlete program will help improve flexibility, balance, mobility, agility, strength, and conditioning. It’s been shown that improving these core functions lead to improved sports performance. But more importantly, they help build improved body awareness and self-esteem.

Who should join?

Any student athlete aged 12 and above who is serious about getting exercise and having fun while focusing on general strength and conditioning.

What to expect

Student Athletes will meet up to twice a week through the majority of the summer. Participants must come ready, injury-free, and commit to five weeks of interval training, strength training, full-body workouts, and having fun.We will teach your student athlete the importance of functional strength training and mobility. Additionally, your student athlete will be guided on the value of a well-rounded fitness routine, how it can benefit sports training, improve everyday life, and start a lifelong love of fitness.Weather-permitting, training sessions will take place both in the FOR facility and outside in the park. In this program, he or she will receive the following:

  • 1 or 2 group sessions per week
  • Goal setting
  • Mind-exploding tools to approach their fitness
  • Two take home workouts per week
  • Email access to their coach, Jason Knowles
  • Lots of FUN

The 5-week program kicks off on Tuesday, June 26 and will run through August 17.Since we realize most of you travel in the summer, we are offering the program for eight weeks; you can choose the weeks you are in town. We are offering sessions on eight Tuesdays and five Thursdays, with each session starting at 5pm.

How much does it cost?

All of this for just one flat fee of $299 for 5 sessions or $349 for 10 sessions!
