Summer 2023: Things I Can’t Live Without And Why
Denim Midi Skirt
Treat a denim midi skirt like a pair of cropped jeans. It’s that easy. My legs get hot, so jeans in the summer months can sometimes feel like a lot. With a midi skirt, I can stay cool and still feel like my casual self (t-shirt and sneakers), or I can take the dressy route and do a blouse or a blazer up top with a dressy sandal.
Baseball Cap
With clients, I’m constantly talking about authenticity and remaining true to yourself in your clothing selections. My overall vibe is ultra laid back, so I am loving the contrast of a chic outfit (or chic pool look) with a baseball cap. It feels like my third-grade self is still with me.
The Color Orange
This color is having a moment. It’s so happy and carefree. I love to rock loud colors in small ways like a lipstick shade, a nail color, or in the details of a logo, a print, or a pattern. The trick is to let go of being matchy-matchy and just rock it. This summer I’ll be kicking it in some white Vejas with a suede orange “v”. I found these at The Shoe Hive!
Summer Terry
Tibi recently rolled out a summer terry cocoon sweatshirt and I am obsessed. I am so blown away that I bought it from The Hive in two colors: dark navy and cumin. Talk about luxurious! It’s super light for year-round layering, but it also offers much coverage with the cocoon style. I like to wear it longer so it cinches below my butt. It’s killer. If you watch Succession, you’re likely aware of the subtle luxury moment that is happening. Basically, it’s when you wear pieces that are extremely well made, but they don’t jump out at people. Summer terry cloth is my subtle (or quiet) luxury for me this summer.
Rituel De Fille Eye Soot
The dewy glowy girl-next-door look has always been my favorite day-to-night makeup style for summer. Let me tell you something, though, there’s no way I’m sitting down and applying my makeup for more than 5 minutes. Mama ain’t got time. I want products that I can apply with my fingers!! Gus, one of the makeup experts at Stylist at North, recently got me hooked on a shimmery eye soot by Rituel de Fille that I can smear on my eyelids with my pinky and I feel cool and stellar!
Statement Rubber Sandals
I’m always on the lookout for wildly cool summer sandals. The kind that I can wear to the pool or out and about. I found this super cool pair from this funky brand I found a few months ago. I love that they are low-key badass. There are studs on them, but because the entire shoe is tan and rubber it’s not super noticeable. Looking forward to wearing them all summer!
A Necklace With Some Color
I had the pleasure of meeting the Fortunato sisters at the Lizzie Fortunato trunk show at The Hive a few weeks ago and they blew me away! I’ve always had my eye on their jewelry, but I wanted something I could wear every day. I checked out their fine jewelry line and met my new favorite necklace that reads playful but refined! Linen Chartreuse
Linen is everything in the Summer, but it can sometimes have a bit of a dull feeling to it. I found the most incredible pair of chartreuse linen pants recently and I feel like my linen game has been taken to the next level! Chartreuse is everywhere right now and I love it so much, but make it linen and I am over the moon. These pants will be the leading role in every single outfit.
Big Pops of Silver
There’s a very good chance you’ll find me wearing giant hollow silver hoops every day. I feel like they balance my daily t-shirt and jeans. Adding a pop of shine with an earring, a shoe or a bag can immediately transform an entire outfit. Try it!
