Baby, It's Going to Get Cold Outside: Part 1
I feel like we've had a slow start to colder weather this year. However, full-on chilly weather will be here before you know it. I love jackets and coats. It's always been one of my favorite items to "collect." I personally love having a variety depending on what I'm wearing that day. I tend to keep my coats forever too. So even though I don't buy new ones every year, they do pile up in the coat closet until I force myself to weed a few out. Some of my favorite coats are several that I had custom-made in 1998 when I was stationed in South Korea. At the time, you could take any picture to the tailor, and they could make it for you. I couldn't afford anything from J. Crew at the time, but I took a picture in, and voila! I had a replica. I still have this coat and wear it a lot every season.
Covid put a damper on fall style last year, so I thought that it would be fun to have a variety of coats at Kiskadee this year. When I was looking at fall collections in February, I was excited to see some of the offerings that our staple brands had. I love both of these jackets from Lilla P. This is their fresh take on a puffer coat with a shorter sleeve and a notch collar. The felt flannel fabric has a look of a woven but is actually a knit, making it stretchy, super comfy, and easy to wear. The wide sleeve opening makes it perfect to go over fall sweaters.
Tyler Boe also had some really cute jackets this season. All so different, making them so versatile for fall wardrobes. Of course, I had to have one for myself and picked out the sherpa jacket.
