Baby Love

When I took over Monday’s Child two years ago, the owner of WHY NOT? wisely advised me on the importance of curating a great selection of baby gifts – and offered that no matter what happens in the world or how bad the economy gets, people will always be in need of baby gifts. That really stuck with me and I’ve been on the hunt for beautiful, super-soft, and special pieces for babies ever since. Before coronavirus, picking out baby gifts in person was one of the main reasons people stopped into the shop. Today you can shop online for almost anything, however, when it comes to a new baby, you want to ensure the softest layette. At such an uncertain time to be bringing a child into the world (or being in a hospital!), I think people really sympathize with new mothers and fathers and they want to express how much they are thinking of them. I’ve added countless notes to sweet presents wishing the gift-giver could meet the new baby in person soon. I really feel for and admire these new parents–who are adapting in these crazy times.Right now, the demand for baby gifts has never been higher and we at Monday’s Child are here to make it as easy as possible to shower them with love! We love helping you incredible gift-givers pick the perfect present, wrap it, write a note, and ship it – or deliver it. And we feel so grateful every time we do! Thank you for all of your support and until we see you in person, here are some ideas for the new baby in your life:I fell in love with the Nella Pima line the second I saw it. It’s simple and so elegant and comes from the softest Peruvian Pima cotton. We sell out of it every time it’s delivered. They make the most beautiful blankets, sleep sacks, and take-home outfits. Blankets shown here are $50   Don’t like dealing with a million snaps? A favorite line of ours, Magnetic Me, has silky-soft and eco-friendly footies with magnetic fasteners that parents love. There’s no going back once you get used to the ease of these adorable outfits! Elephant footie in pink or blue ($36).  Nothing makes me happier than working with customers to find the perfect monogrammed outfit. Personalizing a footie, bubble, or sweater makes for the best gift. Monograms take less than a week and are $15.   I always loved getting hooded towels for my boys when they were born and seven years later, we’re still using them. These towel sets from 3 Marthas ($48) are always greatly appreciated by moms and are great with or without a monogram (but especially with!).  Is there anything more beautiful than a baby in all white? I don’t think so. We love this knit set from The Beaufort Bonnet Company ($76) and the sweetest little bubble with embroidered flowers ($48).And of course, we’ll help tie the present together with accessories! Bibs, books, bonnets, binkies – we’ve got them! The store is open for appointments and we are happy to send you ideas/pictures if you aren't ready to shop in-person quite yet.
