Red, White & You: American-Made Favorites That Celebrate Craft and Community
With the Fourth of July and Alexandria’s Birthday celebration on July 12 just around the corner, we’re turning the spotlight on four standout creators whose products are made in the USA and thoughtfully curated for Boxwood Old Town. Their craftsmanship brings our summer shelves to life, and we hope, your home, too.
From the very beginning, we knew Boxwood would be about more than aesthetics. When we opened in 2019, our sourcing list had three must-haves: quality, accessibility, and sustainability. Six and a half years later, those values still guide everything we bring into the shop. We're proud to feature American-made and women-owned brands—and nothing makes us happier than seeing photos of our goods lighting up your tablescapes, backyard gatherings, or boat days on the Potomac.

Here are a few of our favorite made-in-America brands to shop for summer:
Caspari
For more than 70 years, Caspari has elevated the everyday with their beautifully printed paper products, from cheerful cocktail napkins to elegant tableware. Inspired by fine art, textiles, and interiors, their collections are known for vibrant color, timeless design, and festive flair. While the brand has an international footprint, many of its products, like gift wrap, stationery, and paper plates, are printed right here in the U.S. Their flagship store is just a drive away in Charlottesville, VA, and we’re proud to carry their pieces that make effortless entertaining even more beautiful.
Hester & Cook
Born in a basement and now beloved nationwide, Hester & Cook was founded by husband-and-wife duo Angie and Robbie Hester Cook. It started with a clever idea—transforming a vintage doorknob into a wine stopper—and grew into a thriving brand known for paper placemats, table runners, and decor that turns any meal into a memorable moment. Their whimsical yet refined designs make it easy to layer on personality, whether you're hosting a backyard barbecue or an impromptu girls' night in.
In2Green
Who says cozy can’t be eco-conscious? In2Green has been leading the sustainable style movement for nearly two decades. Their soft, luxurious throws made from recycled cotton and polyester and produced in small batches across the U.S. We love their coastal-inspired designs and thoughtful production process, it’s conscious living wrapped in comfort and style.
Tulusa
Right here in Alexandria’s own Del Ray neighborhood, Sue Henry’s Tulusa studio creates hand-block printed textiles that blend beauty with functionality. Each piece, whether it’s a napkin, table runner, or pillow cover, is handmade, artful, and full of heart. Sue’s designs add a unique, personal touch to your space and make for wonderful hostess or housewarming gifts. Tulusa is proof that local truly can be luxe.
These four brands are just a few of the many reasons we believe in shopping local and American-made. Behind each product is a story of creativity, care, and commitment to quality. Whether you’re prepping your home for a July 4th gathering or simply refreshing your summer vibe, you’ll find something meaningful and beautiful at Boxwood.
