Celeste's Summer Hero: The Dress

I used to say that fall and winter were my favorite seasons fashion wise. However, in the last few years, I've looked forward to warmer weather more and more. As I've gotten older, I find comfort in fashion to be key. I'm not going to lie... putting on those jeans again in September and October wasn't fun. Once the warm weather hits, you'll almost always find me in a dress. I push these as far as I can into the fall by using leggings. I don't love the way shorts look on me, and I'm usually in a hurry to get dressed... so, a dress it is. I find dresses to be the most comfortable piece of clothing in the summer. I choose dresses that are flowy and are made from lightweight fabric. I don't go super short, but even though I'm not tall (5'2), I still love a good maxi or midi dress. I have to say that I truly love every dress we have in the store right now, and we have a lot. Everything from super casual to that dress that is perfect for a summer wedding. Of course, I made sure I ordered myself a few. I bought every single of these for myself, and I can't wait to wear them all… although I need a spray tan first. I love this bright pink gauze dress from Michael Stars. I love dresses that can blouson at the waist. I find that this is very flattering for most body types, and it hides a bit of the weight I gained over the winter. The color makes me happy, and the lightweight gauze fabric will be perfect for the hot weather on the way.

Available at Kiskadee, $168

Another lightweight pink dress that I had to have is this one from Lilla P. This one is also made of gauze, and it's going to be one of my go-to pieces when the thermometer starts to climb. Technically a midi dress, it does come down a bit longer on me, but it still looks great with a small wedge sandal.

Available at Kiskadee, $148

This cute dress from Tart Collections has a fun side tie. Although it looks like it's short, on me, it comes down to the knee. I like this dress a lot because it can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Add some heels, special jewelry, and a clutch it's perfect for a summer wedding - or you can dress it down with flat sandals for an everyday look.

Available at Kiskadee, $88

Of course, you can't go wrong with linen. I love this asymmetrical dress from Fresh Laundry. This will be one of my National's games dresses for sure… blue stripes go perfectly with the team colors. Bonus? Pockets! We all love pockets on a dress. Add a jean jacket or white cardigan, and this can easily transition into the early, warmer days of fall. Available at Kiskadee, $148
