Channeling Maria von Trapp

We recently did our annual family viewing of The Sound of Music. One song, in particular, is my favorite and well, it's pretty applicable right now. I know I have the same problem that everyone else is having... we have days and moments where we feel blue. You know what lifts me up? My favorite things, that's what. Just like the song says,

"When the dog biteswhen the bee stingswhen I'm feeling sadI simply remember my favorite thingsand then I don't feel so bad."

I thought this would be a good moment to lift up the other ladies of Stylebook and tell you all about some of my favorite things. These are little things in life that bring a smile to my face or just make my life a little easier.Bellacara carries my absolute all-time favorite shower gel: Molton Brown. It is such luxury in the shower and whenever I use it, it instantly makes me feel better. Angela has pretty much every awesome scent they make, but my favorites are Rhubarb and Rose and Fiery Pink Pepper. If you want to try several different scents, I highly recommend the gift sets that are available now. I always buy one for my mom (and one for me) every holiday season.

We carry diffusers from Seda France and Lafco that I love, but every now and then, I want something different. My new diffuser obsession is from Apothecary Guild. Boxwood has a bunch of different scents right now. Not only do these diffusers smell amazing, but they are works of art as well. I have the Fig Vetiver one in my powder room and I love it.

When I first discovered France Luxe products years and years ago at The Shoe Hive, I wasn't sure if their plastic hair clips were worth the price. Believe me... they are. Their products are all handmade in France and the craftsmanship is on point. I also love the ponytail holders. They, too, last for years and never ever snag my hair. Every hairdresser I've ever talked to recommends these if you are going to put your hair in a ponytail. Elizabeth has a ton of options right now and all of my favorites.

Now... let's talk about food. There are two things I eat once every week when I'm at work. One is a bagel sandwich from Bagel Uprising. I was so excited that Nicole of Stomping Ground partnered with Chad to open a permanent spot for these delicious bagels. One of the things I like most about them is that they aren't huge. They've created some pretty amazing sandwiches. My favorite is the Fowl Mood with Nicole Dill on an everything bagel, toasted. I also add jalapenos because jalapenos make everything better.

Don't forget to shop local this holiday season and beyond, of course. We all want to be here for years to come to make sure you all can get your favorite things too.
