Closed, The Brand is Back at The Hive!

When it comes to what brands we carry at The Hive, the decisions aren’t always easy. It’s a bit of a puzzle that we put together in advance of each season. I often get emails or texts suggesting brands we should stock, and I search the internet and showrooms for new lines. A lot of these ideas are great but the reality is, we can’t carry them all. Retail is all about math so we have to make it all work – which is weird because I stink at math.

One line that we tried and didn’t work was called Closed. We had some success with it but when we looked at it overall, I just couldn’t fit it into the puzzle for the next season, as much as I wanted to do so.

I sadly let my rep know and she replied, “Why don’t I just send you some stuff to try?” I thought: Inventory without risk? This never happens. I almost fell off my chair, and of course, I said yes. So thanks to this great brand that wants to keep working with us, we are able to have Closed back in stock this spring. Check out some of the looks:

They sent so many great styles, both denim and great pants, along with some cute shirting and sweaters. I hope you will stop by The Hive and check out Closed; it’s a great brand and we’re hoping we can get enough support for it to keep it on our shelves long-term.

Owner | The Hive and The Shoe Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
