Comfort in Fashion, Edition 2

The Buy Nothing Facebook group has created a lot of new friendships for me. One of them is Vicki Leavitt. She and I talked recently about how, during these times, fashion brings us comfort in our own way. She is a district manager for J. Jill, so she definitely has an appreciation for fashion as well. I thought she would be a good person to contribute to the series.

I believe that fashion makes everyone feel better. We all know how we feel when we have on an outfit that makes us look great - it is an energy and confidence booster! When I have a specific place to go, I put thought into my outfit. For example, who is my audience? Is it casual or more formal? How will I accessorize, and what shoes are the right shoes for the day ahead?I also know that during the pandemic, on the days that I get “dressed up,” it tends to lift my mood. There are certainly times where I need to just throw on workout clothes, but even then, I make a point not to look like I just jumped out of bed. I also believe that looking good creates a positive energy around you! You attract what you put out into the universe.
