Convertibles
With snow on the ground, it’s hard to be inspired to go out and try on new spring styles. While we all know it’s only a matter of time before we’re looking at 70 degree weather, even the idea of getting undressed in the current temperatures is hard to fathom. In a society of immediate gratification, we are guilty of dragging our feet on preparing for the next season.I can speak from experience that women will wait until the week of an event before they start looking for something to wear. I honestly don’t expect to change how you shop, but thought it would be helpful to focus on some “convertible” dress options for when you are ready to take action and shop for spring. My forte is how to make the most of a purchase. I love dresses that can be worn in multiple ways for a variety of occasions. When this is done well, no one remembers the dress, they remember you and your amazing style.
Yellow is having a major moment for spring. While it’s true that this can be a hard color to wear, there a few tips to making it work. On the left I added a tribal-inspired scarf from A Peace Treaty with black fringe and my staple black shoes, adding some height for the volume of the dress. On the right, I loved the white booties paired with a bubblegum pink denim jacket. The hi-lo, layered hemline keeps this flirty while still keeping a not so fussy, minimalist silhouette. This is the true meaning of convertible dressing.
