Cupro: The Sustainable Fabric
Many of you may have noticed that some of your clothing that looks and feels like silk is actually made of cupro. What is cupro you wonder? Cupro is a sustainable fabric made of waste product from cotton. It is biodegradable and easily recycled since it’s made from 100 percent plant-based materials. Not only that, it’s hypoallergenic, breathable, anti-static, stretch resistant, and machine washable! We carry a few lines that use cupro in their efforts to create garments that are environmentally friendly. It’s no surprise that Maven West, based out of Los Angeles, uses cupro for many of their pieces - all produced in L.A. Designers and customers are loving cupro because it’s super soft and has all the drape and textural qualities that you would expect from a luxury fabric. Come try it on and indulge in the silky feel of cupro. And even better, you will know you’re doing your part in wearing sustainable fabrics! We love it and we know you will too!
