Custom Eyeshadow Palettes: Never Have an Unused Shade Again

Over the years I must have purchased dozens of eyeshadow palettes. I would see a palette of all these gorgeous shades and think of all the fun I could have playing with the different colors. Inevitably, I would end up with a palette with two shades worn to the bottom and four that were barely touched. Then I’d head to a store to find shades that could replace the two I had used up.This wasn’t usually an easy proposition as I wouldn’t head to the store until I had completely eradicated all evidence that there was ever shadow in those pans to begin with. Once I opened Bellacara I realized I wasn’t alone. This theme was pervasive. Customer after customer would come in with trios, quads, and even larger palettes with only one or two colors empty. So why do people buy them? The lure is the price. I can have eight shades for $48. That’s amazing! But is it really? It certainly is if you’re the experimental type. If you love to change up your look and use a different shade three times a week, a palette is definitely the way to go. But if you are really a two shade and out the door girl, the palette is a waste of money. It’s so convenient to have the shades all in one palette people say. Yes, this is true. But spending $48 on a palette where you will only use two small shades means you’ve paid for a bunch of colors you’ll never use and ended up with a much smaller amount of the colors you in fact use. Enter the custom palette. The custom palette is the best way to ensure that you use all the shadow you purchase. The best part is that when you run out of a shade, you just replace the one shade. It may cost a bit more in the beginning, but in the end, you save much more. Laura Mercier has three and six well palettes that allow you to pop in only the colors you’ll use. Surratt Beauty has a palette that will allow you to put two shadows and a blush or four shadows in it. They also offer a larger version that will hold two shadows, a blush, and a highlighter. All the convenience of a palette with you as the designer. Now when I open my palette and one shade is used to the bottom, I just pop that out and replace the one shade. I have a perfectly organized makeup bag and only the colors I actually use. I can’t imagine ever going back.If you have a drawer full of duos, trios, and palettes with two colors worn to the bottom, come see me. Let’s create a perfect palette for you. One that you’ll use every last bit of.
