Customizing Our Alx&Co. Collection

As you may remember, one of our big accomplishments last year was finally getting our first collection of customizable Alx&Co. designs created. We have been so pleased to see the many different ways clients have interpreted these designs to work perfectly for them, and I thought I would share a few highlights from the last few months of rings we have created from this collection...

1) Stacey's Golden Take on our Wiley Ring

Our client had a beautiful loose diamond in her collection for which we had discussed a few different setting ideas but hadn't come up with the perfect concept... until she saw our Wiley Ring. Stacey didn't want something that would look too much like an engagement ring and was taken by Wiley's beautiful Art Deco inspired design and big-impact size. We customized the ring for her diamond and crafted it in 14k yellow gold. Paired with natural diamonds to match her center stone, the ring turned out spectacularly.

2) Stephanie's "Treat Yourself" Emma Ring

When Stephanie first reached out, she knew she liked our Emma design and wanted something that would use the same shape and style, but she definitely did not want a white diamond as the center stone. Not wanting the ring to feel too much like an engagement ring (this would be a right-hand ring for her), she asked us to search for gems with a blue hue to them. We sourced a range of london blue topaz, zircon, and blue diamonds for her to review, and ultimately, she picked this gorgeous oval blue diamond for her center stone. Stephanie opted for lab diamonds as her accent stones and had us set the ring in 14k white gold for a cooler tone. It looks totally different, showing just how impactful these small changes can be.

3) Philip's Custom Kathryn Ring

Philip reached out to us knowing that he liked the Kathryn design but preferred to set his ring with natural diamonds rather than the lab diamonds we used in our prototypes. So, we sourced a stunning 1.20 carat oval colorless natural diamond for the center stone and paired it with matching side stones to create a slightly larger version of our sample ring. He kept the other design details the same, resulting in a stunning, low-profile ring that we're sure his (now) fiancé will love.

I love that our clients are taking such creative turns with these rings. We designed them to be flexible for customization and I especially love that Stacey and Stephanie opted for right-hand rings from this collection. If you have a gemstone you would like reset and aren't sure where to start, our Alx&Co. Collection offers a great way to try on our work and get the wheels turning for your own creation. Make an appointment and we'll walk you through your options - you'll be amazed at how easy it is!
