DC Style Factory and the #DontRushChallenge

As I read the news each day, cancel plans to travel to see my family in Thailand, wonder what will become of my business, worry about the doctors, nurses, and grocery store clerks on the front lines, and ache for members of our community who are feeling this pandemic in ways that make me feel utterly ridiculous for talking about staying inside...I remember what I can control. I can put public safety and health first by keeping myself and my family at home with absolutely no exceptions. I can stop seeing clients. I can put my in-person business on hold -- no matter what happens to that business in the aftermath -- and avoid being part of the problem. Finally, I can find joy with the people I love.I am practicing all three now and the last one is what today is about. Last week, my dear friend Tashira (@politicsandfshn) reached out to see if I would participate in a fun style collaboration: the #dontrushchallenge that has been dominating social media. Without hesitation I said yes because oh boy did I need some fun with friends! With Alison Gary of Wardrobe Oxygen (@wardrobe_oxygen), we all reached out to our friends to take part in this challenge. We came up with the perfect group of local D.C. women for this collaboration: fashion and lifestyle blogger Tanvi (@tanviidotcom who has modeled for me right here on Alexandria Stylebook!), style coach/personal stylist Jenn Mapp Bressan (@tinyclosetstonsofstyle), and influencer Angie Baltimore (@watchmebmore).We wanted to put a style spin on our version of the challenge. Our diverse group of six local women in fashion styled up the ultimate in wardrobe basics: a white t-shirt and jeans. We posted the video on Monday on all our social media channels, and I have been smiling all week because of these women. I hope it will put a smile on your face as well and inspire you to find joy in what you love with people you love.P.S. Look closely...can you spot The Shoe Hive pieces I am wearing!? https://www.instagram.com/tv/B-pSvYVBer_/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
