fibre space Sample Sale: Grab Those Hand Knits You Always Wanted But Never Learned How To Make!
If you aren’t a knitter or crocheter but have been by the shop, you probably asked my team if you could purchase one of the garments on display. We don’t normally sell our shop samples, for a few reasons. Often, they don’t belong to us and are on loan to help sell the yarn. The ones that we do commission are costly to have made in the United States, and we aren’t able to find enough sample knitters to produce even what we need on display at the store, let alone enough to sell. And lastly, it’s just not what we do! We sell yarn, stress relief, and relaxation, not sweaters.
BUT, the good news is that once a year we gather all the samples that we no longer need. We ask our stitcher community to donate an item that they made and never wore (maybe they didn’t like it or maybe it didn’t fit). These are all sold during Spring2Action, with all donations being made to Friends of Guest House, which helps women successfully enter the community after incarceration. We are proud to have them as our neighbors!
So come out on April 23 to shop gorgeous handmade items - hats, shawls, scarves, and sweaters. They will all be made from heirloom quality fibres - Merino, Alpaca, Silk, etc. Each one will be handmade and one-of-a-kind - truly unique pieces to add to your wardrobe.
