Self-Care Includes Skincare: Spotlight on Little Seed Farm

It’s that time of year: the nights are getting longer, the leaves are changing, and the days are beginning to carry that crisp chill of fall with the promise of winter to come. As someone who loves sweater weather, the shift of seasons is something I look forward to every year. And, as the weather changes, I am reminded how important it is to engage in self-care.

Since I rely heavily on my hands to craft all my handmade sweaters, taking care of them is a top priority as the colder months set in. One of my favorite brands for keeping my skin moisturized through the fall and winter is Little Seed Farm. This Tennessee farm specializes in all-natural skincare, often featuring goats milk from their very own herd.

Little Seed Farm is the dream project of Eileen and James Ray. After years of living and working in New York City, they realized their future lay elsewhere. The couple relocated to rural Tennessee and became goat farmers, allowing the goats to roam free year-round. Soapmaking began as a hobby at the suggestion of Eileen’s grandmother, and Eileen and James grew the business through farmer’s markets and online shops. Starting with raw goat milk and other organic materials, and packed healing botanicals, Little Seed Farm products are handmade and humanely produced. Little Seed Farm is committed to sustainability, using only the highest quality natural and organic ingredients, supporting responsible farming techniques and ethical business practices worldwide.

At fibre space we have hand creams, soaps, lip balm, body butter, and an assortment of holiday specials that make great gifts.

Botanical Butter has become a shop favorite, with a super rich blend of shea butter, almond oil, and grapefruit extract. This creamy balm has a lovely scent and doesn’t leave a greasy residue. $15

For more intense moisturizing, there’s Hand-Aid Healing Hand Balm. The balm has a coconut oil and shea butter base and is infused with calendula, comfrey leaf, and plantain essential oils to soothe rough, dry skin. $12

If you’re looking for a tiny tin that packs a punch, Little Seed’s Herbal Lip Salve is for you. Shea butter and almond oil are combined with natural flavors like geranium rose and lavender. Use it to keep your lips soft, or to soften cuticles, soothe scrapes, or quickly moisturize any place you need quick relief of dry skin. $8

My personal favorite item to keep on my nightstand is the Booty Balm. While it was developed for diaper rash, this little jar of magic works wonders on cracked elbows and knees. I use it on my daughter’s scrapes and cuts as well as on my knuckles after returning from a brisk walk with the dogs. $15

So stop by fibre space, we’d love to meet you and of course, these products are also available on our site. Keep your skin hydrated!
