Finally, Sweatah Weathah!

Inevitably, every year around this time, I'm reminded of the hilarious skit on SNL with Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph where their characters are both so happy that it's "Finally...Sweatah Weathah." It never gets old and always makes me laugh. Although we've had a few warm days of late, I think that we are finally starting to get into sweater weather. Cool days, chilly nights, and pumpkin spice everything; it truly is my favorite time of the year.

When it comes to sweaters, we need to carry a large variety. Some customers love cashmere. Some love wool. For those who are allergic, I also like to make sure we always have a good selection of sweaters made from synthetic materials as well. I love all of the cashmere that we have in the Nest right now. I love basic, classic styles but with a small twist to make them just a bit different from other pieces. I think this evergreen color in the Lilla P sweater is especially pretty and the small ruffle detail on the shoulder is just the right amount of fun. This grey cashmere sweater from Joie is also one of my favorites. It has just the slightest hint of a bell sleeve, and the boxy shape makes a perfect pairing for a more fitted pair of pants.

Wooden Ships is always a best seller for us. We've had requests over the years to carry one or two of the more holiday-themed sweaters. When I saw this 'Good Witch' sweater, I knew we had to have it. Of course, you can't go wrong with skulls. I like them year-round, but they are perfect for right now. Wooden Ships makes the softest sweaters from different combinations of wool, mohair, and acrylic. Customers think the mohair or wool will make them itchy, but everyone is always pleasantly surprised at how soft they are.

For the customer with allergies, I always make sure to have some sweaters made of synthetics. Allison New York does a really good job of this, and her sweaters sell out for us every season. I recently featured two of her oversized cardigans, but I also love these two pullover styles.
