Give a Gift, Get a Gift

To say we all have a more than a few things going on this time of year would be just about the world’s biggest understatement. I am even having a hard time keeping up with everything going on at our stores and I am the one who plans it all!We made it through Plaid Friday, Small Business Saturday, and the seasonal delivery service Boutique Express is underway. Now what is next? We can’t just sit around and wait for Christmas, right? It is time for the Give a Gift, Get a Gift event. It’s my favorite promotion of the year!I took this idea from a little retailer named Neiman Marcus (I know I am not supposed to shop other places or at a big box store but I mean it is Neiman's). When I first opened my store, I read Minding the Store by Stanley Marcus so my goal has been to emulate him on a small scale. This is just another attempt to try and walk in his footsteps -- and who doesn’t love getting a gift card?Here is how it works: for every $250 you spend at either store, you get a $50 gift card to use in 2019. The more gifts you buy for others (or sneak in for yourself!) the more you get to spend next year. That way, when you have a spending hangover this winter from the holidays but are tempted as we unpack early spring collections, you can just use your Shoe Hive gift cards!
