Happy Birthday Barre3 Old Town
Community, empowerment, and support. As I looked around our company patio last Thursday night, those were the three main feelings rushing over me. Everywhere you turned, someone was smiling and laughing, someone was sharing heartwarming stories or taking photos with their friends and family. It really is events like these that make my heart melt and reassure me that we are so lucky to truly live in the Alexandria community where friends become family. The reason for all the celebrations? Barre3 is celebrating its third birthday at the Old Town location. The inviting party kicked-off with a class taught by studio owner, Meredith Patel. It was an empowering sight to see seventy people all working out together and finding their own strength. After, everyone was sharing their stories, taking photos, and laughing at fun memories over small bites. This sense of community was the perfect way to celebrate Barre3’s message of strength. Their version of strength doesn’t mean how much weight you can lift or how ripped your abs can get. Their version of strength comes from within. It’s realizing power, being kind to yourself, lifting yourself up, and asking for help. It’s finding your voice and using it. It’s knowing who you are and never apologizing for it. Their goal for their workout and community is to help everyone find their #B3STRONG. Barre3 goes beyond a dance oriented workout and truly welcomes everyone, including myself. These bonds go beyond the workout studio walls and that was clearly evident in the warm community and birthday celebrations. Being strong takes a village and I’m so glad we live in this one.
