Four New Orchid Planters You Need in Your Home
A few weeks ago, I did what I do every July: I boarded the first flight out of Reagan at the crack of dawn and flew to Atlanta for the summer buying show. If you follow many of the boutiques in Old Town, you’ve probably seen Instagram stories of business owners walking around market in a disoriented daze that occurs only after you’ve hit 30K steps in a windowless building. The show, well, it’s exhausting. Some boutique owners travel down for an entire week, taking time to explore all twenty something floors of three high rise buildings. For me, I much prefer a quick two-day trip.
Each trip to market in Atlanta comes with thoughtful planning and list making. And, about two hours into each trip, I always seem to find myself veering completely off course. This year, it was a collection of incredible orchid planters that did me in.
I’ve written before about how much I love a classic white orchid planting in my home. It’s elegant, chic, and usually lasts a good deal longer than fresh cut flowers. Some of our clients whose style I admire most are always bringing in big, beautiful vessels for us to fill with orchids every couple of months and each time I think to myself: wouldn’t it be cool if we sold planters like this at Helen Olivia?
Now that we’re back from market for a few weeks, shipments are starting to arrive in studio and we’re so excited to debut a new line of more bespoke planters that’ll be available for order through our website.
Leaf Reverie Planter: I loved this one some much I bought it in two colors. Both the green and white version are classic in style and even more beautiful when dressed with orchids.
Pom Pom Planter: If you have a large, round foyer table — you need this planter. It’s an absolute splurge, but so playful and fun. The height makes the orchids look and feel substantial and like a statement. We’re in love.
Luanda Bowl: Available in two sizes, and gorgeous empty or filled with orchids. This vase is stunning up close and hands down one of my favorite market finds of all times. (spoiler alert: I took two home with me.)
Yazu Bowl: This orchid planter screams fabulous coffee table piece to me, and I’m so pleased a few of you have already agreed. Since launching this beauty on our site on the first day of August, we’ve already seen two snatched up by old town clients. Price point and its versatile design will make it a big winner for the season.
