In the Words of Ron Burgundy: "I love lamp."
Some trends come and go. Others have a way of making a space feel timeless. One of our favorite design elements right now is the return of the table lamp.
For years, event lighting has focused almost exclusively on candles. While we'll never stop loving the romance of candlelight, lamps bring something entirely different to a celebration: warmth, character, and the feeling that you've stepped into a beautifully lived-in home rather than a ballroom.
There's something undeniably inviting about the soft glow of a lamp nestled among flowers, linens, and fine china. It instantly makes a tablescape feel layered and intentional, adding depth in a way that overhead lighting simply can't.
One of the reasons we've embraced this trend is its incredible versatility. Lamps can seamlessly complement nearly any design style—from classic garden parties and English-inspired weddings to sleek modern celebrations and dramatic black-tie affairs. With custom shades, the possibilities become almost endless. Shades can introduce texture, pattern, color, or even bespoke details that tie directly into a client's overall design vision, making each installation feel completely unique.
Beyond the dining tables, we're especially fond of using lamps as architectural anchors throughout an event. A pair of statement lamps placed at the corners of a bar creates an instant focal point, framing the space while adding both height and warmth. They soften large installations and make bars, escort displays, and lounge areas feel more intimate and thoughtfully designed.
As florists, we're always looking for ways to create environments—not just arrangements. Flowers may be the stars of the show, but the supporting elements matter just as much. Beautiful linens, elegant vessels, thoughtful candlelight, and now carefully chosen lamps all work together to create spaces that guests remember long after the last dance.
We have a feeling this trend is here to stay, and we couldn't be happier. It's elegant without feeling formal, luxurious without being flashy, and perhaps most importantly, it makes every celebration feel just a little more like home.
