Tibi Fall Has Arrived: Start with the Fundamentals
Even though we just unpacked our final shipment of Tibi Summer, we also just unpacked our first delivery of Tibi fall.
This is the first of three fall deliveries and it always starts with what Tibi calls the fundamentals. So what are fundamentals? I would say they are the pieces you always grab when you are in a hurry to get dressed or those that come in especially handy when you travel. These are the pieces that you know work, help you feel like yourself, but also help you wear more creative pieces because they make the rest of your outfit feel grounded. Tibi would call these the WOFs or the Without Fails, and as a Tibi loyalist, I couldn’t agree more.
I am so excited about the colors in this delivery. I always say if it is a color that is hard to describe, then it is a good color. At least for incorporating it into your wardrobe, a non-color color always goes with everything. That is how I feel about the blue fog color they did for fundamentals. It is a little blue but also a little grey and will look good on everyone. It is also a great buy now wear now option but will last 12 months out of the year. I just love it. This is pretty clear but that fact that we are getting the Stella pants, shrunken v-neck cardigan and the lightweight sweat-shirting in this color.
If I were to tell you to buy one thing from this collection it would be the lightweight sweat-shirting set. I mean I would go for all 3, but any of them will be the item you wear the most. I always take one of these sets on trips. Better yet, I usually wear one on the plane. I feel put together but comfortable. If you have to run down to breakfast but don’t want to get dressed, this is what you need. I also wear the shirts with everything. I dress them up with a wool trouser skirt or nylon balloon skirt and dress them down with jeans or shorts. They are the perfect weight and easy to layer.
If you know Tibi you know the Stella pant and I was excited to add a new color to my collection. Last year I also started wearing their lighter weight sweaters more. Not sure if it is my age or that the heat is always too high in the winter, but I am drawn to thinner sweaters.
You can’t go wrong with the Liam Blazer. Probably my most worn item in my closet. It is a toss-up if I wear my black one or this stone color we just restocked. If you don’t have a Liam I highly recommend this color.
Next up, skirts. Tibi makes skirts for people that don’t wear skirts. It seems like a pleated skirt wouldn’t be flattering, but it is. Then the slip skirts are so easy and if you are traveling they take up no room. They are easy to wear out to dinner with a little heel or sandal, and then around town for a day of sightseeing with a sneaker. Once again, I love this shade of blue.
Last but not least, the active knit fabric is amazing and the Winslow is the best pant. I went to dinner with a friend a few weeks ago and I complimented her pants, she was like they are the Winslow from your store. The way she styled them they looked so much dressier than how I typically wear them. It reminded me how versatile they can be. Then the track jacket is exactly what you need this time of year when you are in and out of places with crazy air conditioning. My favorite detail is the double zipper so you can style it so many different ways.
I still can’t believe I am writing about a fall delivery, but this collection has so many great buy now wear now pieces that I had to write about them. They also are all what Tibi calls 12 mo’ers. These are pieces you wear 12 months out of the year, which means you get your price per wear.
