Turn Heads: 12 Looks From Tibi

Heads were turning on Fairfax and Cameron Streets last week when The Hive's supermodels – Tayo, Megan, Ali and Courtney – hit the cobblestones wearing the newest arrivals from Tibi. I watched as cars slowed to see what these beautiful women were doing. And I’m incredibly grateful to have such good friends that make these clothes look amazing.

In case you haven’t heard, we’re having a huge event at The Hive on Thursday; a BIG DEAL with a capital B. Amy Smilovic, Tibi Founder and Creative Director, and Keturah Drake, Fit Specialist and Stylist for Tibi will be in store to help you shop the collection. You can sign up for an appointment, or drop in and we’ll do our best to accommodate. It isn’t often we have an owner of such a major, hot brand come and visit. And for my little store, it’s a really big deal.

You can also stop by Friday through Sunday to shop the newest arrivals and the extended selection we’ll have for the event. I will be there to help along with The Hive team. Don’t worry, we know Tibi backwards and forwards. When Annette and I head to New York for market we have to check and see what Tibi pants we’re wearing–so we’re not twinning.

Here are the ladies modeling Tibi:

Tibi has its own vocabulary that the line and its followers have created, and it’s really helped us, and the consumer, understand how to make the most of our clothing and dress with confidence. I think it’s one of the silver linings of Covid. Amy took to Instagram to keep connected with her customers and built a community of amazing women who want to explore their personal style.

If you want to dive deeper into the world of Tibi, their website is a great place to start, specifically the section called The Good Ick. When you look good, you feel good and no brand has helped me figure out my own style more than Tibi.

I hope you will come in and see us, and meet Amy and Keturah. Sign up for a styling appointment, it’s going to be a great event!

Owner | The Hive and The Shoe Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
