Introducing Mark D. Sikes Collection for Dash & Albert and Pine Cone Hill

I cannot be more excited about this! You know that my love of blue and white runs deep, right? Well, let me introduce you to the king of blue and white, Los Angeles interior designer, Mark D. Sikes. What this man can do with blue and white is inspired. His recipe includes a dash of preppy, a pinch of Bohemian, a little classic American, and a smidge of English countryside. All together he cooks up collected interiors that are a feast for the eyes. When the folks at Annie Selke, the parent company of Dash & Albert and Pine Cone Hill, announced a new collection with Mark Sikes, I knew it would be good. The two styles are a match made in blue and white heaven. The classic-yet-casual style of both companies pairs perfectly. Here are just a sampling of the rugs and bed linens in the new collection… [nemus_slider id="61186"]I thought it would be fun to take a couple of pieces from the new collection and create a fun bedroom out of them. Not nearly as good as the original, here is my Mark Sikes-inspired room. It needs a bit of greenery, a lot of accessories, a dresser, and art, but it’s a good base line. The rug was the first thing I picked because I love it so. I wanted to make another bold splash with the wallpaper, which is very on point. (If you’re not keen of that big of a statement and just want to do paint, then I’d go dark navy blue). Because there are two bold elements, I kept everything else streamlined with subtle pattern or textures. I love the window pane checks on the linen cotton blend duvet and standard shams from Mark Sikes’ collection.Because he likes to mix pattern, I went to another of my blue and white design favorites, John Robshaw, for the Euro shams and decorative pillows. A slip-covered April bed from Cisco Brothers’s Essentials collection in a chambray navy blue is a nod to the Nantucket shores. A bit of wood and rattan were also tossed in because you should always have wood and rattan tossed in when doing a coastal room. The new Mark Sikes collection is a wonderful expression of either coast. It’s the perfect collision of stripes, florals, ikats, and paisleys. To learn more about the collection or to purchase anything you see in this room, stop in Red Barn Mercantile today.
