Introducing Sidai Designs

Back in February, or the “before COVID times” as I like to say, I attended a small gift show called Shoppe Object. It's a tiny show that only took me about an hour to get through. I wanted to find some interesting and different jewelry.I came across a booth with really beautiful beaded jewelry. Sidai Designs collaborates with the Maasai women in Tanzania, East Africa to create design-led accessories that merge with time-honored beadwork but with a modern twist. This partnership enables these women to have access to sustainable employment and ownership of their future. The order was supposed to arrive early April but for obvious reasons, it just came in.The jewelry is truly stunning. The name Sidai actually means beautiful in their language, Maa.
