Spice Up That Jewelry Box, Part 3: Introducing Sophie West

I fell in love with this new jewelry the moment I saw it. It’s big, bold, and full of fun. Sophie West was launched in 2014 by French-American designer Sophie Herbert-Ford. Known for vivid color palettes and elegant design, it’s all hand-made in her atelier in France. The line was born of the mixed French and American influences: the designs mingle traditional Native American stitching and follows Parisian Haute Couture traditions.Sophie uses Swarovski crystals, artisanal French porcelain, and Japanese glass seed beads, but everything is on fabric backing so they are more lightweight than they appear. Fun fact, Sophie spent her summers as a teenager at her grandparent’s house in Hollin Hills, so she’s very excited to be back in Alexandria, so to speak.Don’t forget about our Mother’s Day wish list -- one of these pieces should definitely be on it!
