Feeling Overdressed? Jumpsuits to the Rescue!

For me, dresses are kind of tricky. While offering an easy way to get the job done in the morning, there can be something a little fussy about at a dress at times. About a week ago, I asked my daughter to help me cull the bin of spring and summer clothing as I switched over my closet. Her job was to keep me from making the usual excuses to keep the clothing that no longer fits my profile. I started the process by showing her a favorite recent purchase: a jumpsuit. Once I set the bar and established the style I felt best in, editing became much easier.[divider height="30" style="default" line="default" themecolor="0"]

Stylist Tip: Have you ever wondered whether to purge pre- or post-season?

Purging at the end of a season gives you a fresh concept of what you didn’t wear. While this can be the perfect opportunity to edit, how many of you can find reason to hold onto the clothing due to the simple fact that the occasions didn’t present themselves this year but there could be a chance that next year they will? In my professional opinion, I prefer the pre-season edit. It will keep your closet light on distractions and you stepping ahead and looking fresh.

Edit out the ones that feel they have lost their relevance, and then I suggest you go try on a few jumpsuits. The great thing about a jumpsuit is that it will put you in the category of progressive style immediately. Then there is also the comfort. I realize that not every “body” was intended for a jumpsuit, but there is a vast selection out there now and TSALT has covered a variety of shapes and styles.

Being a master of conversion, I’ve been able to transform the Siena Jumpsuit above to work under one of TSALT’s stunning pleated tops from Elizabeth and James. When I build a wardrobe, either for myself or my clients, I love to make the pieces have unexpected relationships with one another. To me, this is how style becomes unique. [divider height="30" style="default" line="default" themecolor="0"]TSALT has a great selection of these of the moment onesies. I’ve been urging my clients to consider the jumpsuits over the dress for weddings and showers this season. Fact of the matter is, there will be more opportunities to wear jumpsuits considering they are a perfect bridge between dressy and casual when accessorized correctly. If you are still on the fence, do a search for “Street Style Jumpsuits 2018” and you’ll find lots of  images to inspire and help you develop your love for the jumpsuit!
