Kiskadee Loves Local: ISO Candles

I love my little nook of the area! There is always something going on with such nice people involved. I love the different ways to meet people too. I'm not sure how many of you all belong to any local Buy Nothing groups, but I love being involved with a few. I know it sounds counterintuitive as a business owner to love a group that espouses buying nothing... but that's not really what it's about. It's about community, mainly. Secondly, it's about giving away things you no longer have a use for. There is a spin-off group that I'm involved with that allows business owners and entrepreneurs to talk about their business once a month. Back in February, the Admin gave us all a moment to do just that, and that is how I met Erin, the creative force behind ISO Candles.  I asked Erin to give me a little bit of background for this article: "Hi there! My name is Erin and I'm a Tar Heel living in Del Ray with my dapper husband, Taylor. The love for candles was lit (ha!) a few years ago when I signed up for my first candle making class while on vacation. After a few classes and starting to grow a small candle collection, I decided to buy a kit and do countless hours of research and testing. Then, I began making candles for friends and family. Fast forward a few months (and a few nudges), one of my girlfriends pushed just hard enough and convinced me to turn this hobby into something more. And so, ISO Candles was born. The name originates largely from constantly looking for (being ‘In Search Of’) a new activity or life journey! We’re always on the move and trying to find something new to fill our lives. Lastly, Taylor is the kindling that keeps this fire of a dream burning. I turn to him for every decision and he even writes every single label."I am so excited to have six of her amazing scents at Kiskadee. My personal favorite is Je T'aime Paris. I also love the opportunity to support another woman-owned business. I hosted Erin recently for a pop-up and she is an absolute delight. I'm sure you'll love the candles as much as I do!
