I don’t know about you, but once the 4th of July comes and goes, I feel blah. I love holidays and having plans. Once this time of the year hits, I count the days until fall, my favorite season. So, I thought I’d plan some fun events for the store in the next month to get through it. Get your calendars out and pencil in these dates!

The Alexandria Sidewalk Sale typically happens in mid-August. This year it will be August 14 and 15. I want to get an early start on this so that we will have a tent sale in the Kiskadee driveway. The tent sale will be all day on Saturday, July 24 only. I know I’m not the only store out there that still has some lockdown era inventory to get rid of. Honestly, I am so tired of looking at it and am really looking forward to a fresh start this fall. So, help me! It’s only one day, so hit up the Del Ray farmers market and come down for some amazing deals on everything from apparel to shoes to jewelry and gifts. Whatever is left will be part of the Alexandria Sidewalk Sale, but I really don’t want to have to lug it all out twice.

Next up, we have the Virginia tax-free weekend, August 6 – 8. While the official tax-free deals are only on clothing and apparel that is $100 or less, we will offer the tax-free benefit for everything in the store, including sale items, all weekend long. The tax is on us!

We wouldn’t have made it through the last year and a half without all of you, our wonderful customers. It meant the world to us that you went out of your way to support us and shop, buy gift certificates, etc. So, I’ve decided to have a weeklong customer appreciation celebration. It will start Saturday, August 21, and end on Sunday, August 29. There will be specials, giveaways, events, and more. Stay tuned for details on that.
