Kiskadee's Fall Market Report
As everyone is getting ready for spring, getting pedicures and what not, Michele and I went to New York a few weeks ago to do our big fall buy for Kiskadee. Can you believe that? Even after three years of this, it always astounds me how early the fashion cycle runs. The fun part, though, is getting a glimpse of what is going to be big for Fall 2020.Granted, we mainly see our normal vendors and some new ones, but we saw many of the same trends with all of them. Although we did see a few lines that had one or two styles that had exposed shoulders or one shoulder, it looks like the “cold-shoulder” trend is finally making its way out. One big trend that is continuing from spring is puffed shoulders. Not the Anne of Green Gables kind, but they are definitely there. Like the cold shoulder, it won’t be everyone’s favorite, but I have my eye on few pieces for myself.On the pattern side, we saw a lot of tie dye, plaid, and yes, animal prints. Animal prints were done in some fun and unique ways though. I’m really excited for some of those pieces. Another trend that is continuing…camouflage. Yes folks, it’s here to stay for fall. I personally love camo and wear it regardless of whether or not it’s “in.” We ordered a few, more novelty and unique pieces in a camo print. Wooden Ships especially had some fun sweaters in that department.As for colors, we saw a lot of gorgeous orange and rust hues. The oranges we saw were stunning and I’m really excited for some of those pieces to arrive in early fall. Here are a few pics of what we saw at market...
