Lips & Brows with the OGs

I’ve got a funny story to tell you about when I was at a styling event with Rosana of DC Style Factory back in the spring. It goes like this:

Rosana: Elizabeth, how long have you been in business?

Elizabeth: Almost 15 years.

Rosana: Wow, you are the OG.

Elizabeth: I know I am the old girl of retail.

Chris Kidd and Rosana simultaneously burst out into laughter.

Chris Kidd: That isn’t what it means, Elizabeth; it means Original Gangster.

Elizabeth: Yes then I am the original OG.

Chris: Elizabeth you don’t say “original” before. That is part of it!

So the point of this story, however, is that I am actually not the original OG or even the OG. That would be Angela of Bellacara. Many stores have come and gone in Old Town since we opened our doors, but Bellacara really was one of the first. Our stores have worked together on events together since the beginning,We decided this fall we wanted to collectively celebrate our favorite season under one roof, so Angela is packing up part of her store and setting up shop at The Shoe Hive.As a makeup novice, I have always thought the two things that make the biggest difference in a woman’s appearance are lips and eyebrows. So Angela, along with two very talented makeup artists (editor's note: get to know them here), are going to show us all how it is done. I went in early to learn some of the tricks of the trade. Besides transforming my brows, I picked the best new lipstick! I am usually a gloss person and this is kind of a hybrid lipstick/gloss. Come shop our one-time collaboration/combination or just stop in for advice and a drink.
