Love Is Love

As a general rule, I don’t make public declarations about other people or big events because I don’t feel qualified to speak about anyone else’s experience but my own. Privately I mourn our collective losses, curse the names of those that cause pain, and celebrate the victories of those who get very few. Words are so powerful and often I’m afraid I don’t have any that would alter tragedy, give relief, or change minds. So, I stay quiet. That is unless or until I can add to the conversation in a way that moves us all forward. This Pride Month I want to share with you one of the things I hold true. Love is love. I believe we all deserve it in the myriad forms in which it comes. I believe it conquers hate and heals not all, but most wounds. I believe those who give love are as equally fortunate as those who receive it. And, I believe love has its limits, but we should still afford it to our fellow humans. Love is why we at Red Barn Mercantile and Penny Post throw open our doors every day to everyone.I had planned to use this post to sell wedding stationery, but I won’t. Instead I want to remind everyone that you have friends at Red Barn Mercantile and Penny Post who celebrate each of you for who you are, no matter what.
