Milestone Moments With Jane Win

With three stores, we are constantly looking for new designers and new options, but I am especially always looking for new jewelry lines. We want to carry new and interesting pieces, both costume and fine pieces. We also love when someone wears a piece, and people don’t know which it is.

I was asking Alicia if she had come across any great jewelry lines as she searches far and wide for her clients, and one of the Iines she mentioned was Jane Win.

When I looked up the line, I immediately fell in love with all the pendants. As I learned more about the line, I fell even more in love with the story. The company was started by Jane Winchester Paradis when she was 45, after more than 20 years in fashion marketing. Jane clearly could have stayed the course in a very successful career (she had been at Lily Pulitzer for 11 years), but she knew it was time to forge her own path and create something to call her own.

Her collection is made up of eight amulets symbolizing abundance, positivity, strength, hope, and luck. As she states, “It is the perfect gift for yourself or for someone who needs a reminder of their milestone moment.”

These pieces reminded me of the coin I wear from my grandmother. When I went on a recent spring break trip, I didn’t want to take my grandmother’s piece for fear of losing it, so I bought a Jane Win necklace. I can’t tell you how many people commented on my necklace. I got the butterfly pendant, but it was hard to choose. They come in two sizes, and I love the Carry Your Heart pendant, especially layered with a coin.

I thought this was the perfect time to write about them in Stylebook if someone needs a last-minute Mother’s Day gift. So thank you, Alicia, for the great tip; we all love Jane Win, and we know everyone else will too.

Owner | The Hive and The Shoe Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
