Things NEAT Method Recommends Letting Go of in Retirement

Retirement is an exciting and wonderful new life chapter, filled with a lot of changes and opportunities to let go of things that no longer serve you! Here are the things we recommend saying goodbye to so you can live your best life:

Business or Work Clothes

You can save one or two suits for special occasions, but if retirement lends itself to more leisurely attire, it's time to let go of suits, ties, dress shoes, and hosiery!

Old Paperwork

Decades of bills, insurance paperwork, and bank statements don't need a permanent home in your filing cabinets. Go through everything and shred anything that's old or that you no longer need.

Furniture You No Longer Need

Maybe you've moved or downsized? You may find yourself with furniture that doesn't fit your space or suit your home. You can donate or pass the pieces along to someone who is just starting out.

Unnecessary Kitchenware

If you commonly packed your own lunch, it's time to let those supplies go. If you spent a lot of time entertaining but see yourself enjoying more dinners out in retirement, it's time to let go of some kitchen items.
