New Pistola Denim at Mint Collective

When we set out to open Mint Collective, one of our main goals was to not only bring new brands to the area but also brands that were high-quality with approachable price points. We felt like there was a gray area in Old Town; from the high-end boutiques to the mainstream retail stores, there wasn't an in-between boutique where locals could find unique items and great price points on clothing. That was one of our starting concepts that can be hard to execute without the proper research. One brand we carry that hits all of those points is Pistola Denim. Coming out of Los Angeles, Pistola Denim was founded by Grace Na. Grace has dabbled in various big-name retailers like myself, and one day I suppose she wanted to do her own thing and design ridiculously comfortable and affordable denim - and boy, are we glad she did. We cannot keep Pistola in stock. Every week as I text our sales rep to order more, I can't help but think she must think I'm nuts. But we have to give the people what they want! (I get it now, Elizabeth.)The moment a customer tries on a pair of Pistola jeans, they can't believe how soft and comfortable… and wait, the price?! Yep, too good to be true. But there's no magic trick - the jeans really do look and feel fantastic. Everyone on my staff seems to have fallen in love with them too as we all have a few pairs, and some days we end up twinning. We love our Pistola jeans over here.We just got our biggest shipment in from Pistola yet; we stocked up on a few different styles of jeans and lots of great sweaters. The safari sweatpant outfit is my new favorite go-to while I make dinner. Their jeans make me feel like I might not have gained the "Covid ten" (just the "Covid five" 😉), and I could sleep in their sweaters. Oh, and it all washes so nicely. These are just a few of my many reasons why you should come try on for yourself – you won't be sorry.About Pistola: "Pistola is a premium denim label offering contemporary ready-to-wear collections designed with the modern woman's independent spirit in mind. Founded in 2013 by industry veteran Grace Na, Pistola skillfully blends expert cuts with a streetwise sensibility. Designed in California, each Pistola garment is meticulously crafted, elevating everyday materials with precise fits and utilitarian style edge, to give women thoughtfully designed classics as wardrobe essentials to live in. Pistola stands by the guiding principle that high-quality denim is for everyone, forever." [nemus_slider id="81721"]

Co-Owner | Mint Condition and Mint Collective

Katie Coslov bought Mint Condition with her sister-in-law Megan Podolsky in August of 2019. Previously Katie was the Director of Operations at The Shoe Hive and had fallen in love with Old Town’s charming little city, where you walk down the street and greet people by their first names. Coming from numerous other big named retailers, and graduating from The University of Arizona with a Retailing and Consumer Sciences Degree, owning her own store had been on her bucket list! Check Check. Katie and her husband Ryan moved to the Alexandria area in 2016 with their two dogs and now have two little ones also.

Mint Condition stocks an ever-changing inventory of current women’s clothing, handbags, shoes, and jewelry by top designers – all in a fresh boutique atmosphere. Come see why we've been named the DC Metro’s Best Consignment Store by Washingtonian, Northern Virginia, Virginia Living Magazines, and the Washington Post Express and featured in Southern Living Magazine as one of Old Town's best boutiques.
