New Sneaker Arrivals: Back 70 & Paul Green Now at The Shoe Hive

I pretty much live in sneakers—not by choice, but because of my feet, as I’ve mentioned before in Stylebook. I wish that weren’t the case, but here we are. Since I wear sneakers most days, I’m always on the hunt for new brands to carry at The Shoe Hive.

I’m excited to announce our newest brand: Back 70. I first spotted them at Scarpa in Charlottesville, and then started seeing them pop up in a few more places. I think Jennifer Desiderio even texted them to me one day—she’s always on the lookout for cool new finds.

The tipping point came when my “Covid daughter,” Ingrid, picked up a pair on a trip to Charlottesville. That felt like a sign. We decided to bring them in, starting with their most popular styles: the Ghost, Boston, and Iuta, plus one of their slides. (I don’t know why, but everyone loves a slide!) We have more styles arriving this summer, and I have to say—they’re classic, cute, and very comfortable. They’re also well-priced if you’re just looking for a fun sneaker to mix into your rotation.

Since I was already on a sneaker search, I figured it was time to bring back Paul Green sneakers. Honestly, when I reach for a pair from my own sizable collection, I often end up in my Paul Greens. They’re a true comfort brand—you can feel the support as soon as you put them on. And it’s not just their sneakers; all of their styles are incredibly comfortable. If you have problem feet, this is the brand for you.

Come check out the newest arrivals from Back 70 and Paul Green, along with tons of other great summer shoes!

Owner | The Shoe Hive/The Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
