Meet the Author of Old Town Style & Welcome Spring at Patina

Mark your calendar for Wednesday, March 5, from 12–4 p.m. as Patina welcomes author Robert F. Weinhagen Jr. for a book signing of Old Town Style, a beautifully curated tribute to the architecture and enduring character that define Old Town. Filled with inspiration and rich detail, the book captures the timeless elegance that makes our neighborhood so beloved. Whether you are a longtime resident, a design enthusiast or simply someone who appreciates Alexandria’s distinctive aesthetic, this is a book you’ll treasure—and a thoughtful gift for anyone who loves our historic community.

Copies will be available for purchase during the signing, and guests are welcome to stop in anytime between 12–4 p.m. to have their books personally signed. Those who would like to secure a copy in advance may purchase online or call Patina at 703-780-6800 to reserve one ahead of the event.

To make the afternoon even more festive, Patina will welcome spring with 20% off all spring décor during the event. The sale includes the full collection of bunny décor and fresh spring floral stems.

At Patina, we believe your home should reflect both where you live and how you live—and this event brings the two together beautifully. We look forward to welcoming you for an afternoon celebrating Old Town charm and the start of a fresh new season.

Patina Polished Living was created 10 years ago by friends Amanda Mertins and Kimberly Weiler.

Amanda Mertins was born in Ohio and graduated the University of Maryland with a degree in Economics. She started moving and editing furniture and accessories while in grade school and hasn’t stopped since. She enjoys baking desserts and playing with her grandchildren.

Kim Weiler was born in Pennsylvania and graduated the University of the Arts with a degree in graphic design. Upon graduating, she was immediately hired by one of her professors at the Katz Wheeler Design firm. She loves design, gardening, sweet tea and all French bulldogs.

Amanda and Kim are excellent complements to one another-one could even say the Yin and Yang of design. Being very different people but with interconnected forces is the reason their partnership continues to flourish.
