Staff Picks from the Veronica Beard Trunk Show

When I go to market, I always ask my sales representatives what they are personally buying from the collection they sell. In the retail world, we call it “our personals.” I find it enlightening to learn what the people most familiar with a product think is so good that they can’t live without it. In that same spirit, I thought our customers might like to know what’s on our shopping list from the Veronica Beard Trunk Show.

I also always like to see what people choose. It gives me an idea of what might be popular.

It’s no surprise that most of us picked jackets — not necessarily a blazer like you might expect from Veronica, but great coats of all types.

Madeline and I always tend to pick the same thing, and this time was no different. If she hadn’t beaten me to the Kasper jacket, it would already have been mine. I don’t know why I love a jacket with a detailed collar, but I do. Sheila went for it with the leather trench; cropped trenches are big for spring. Melissa and Angelica picked great spring jackets that can be worn either as a coat or a blazer.

Juliet, our most loyal Veronica Beard wearer, chose a beautiful blue dress. The Veronicas know how to cut a flattering dress. This one is perfect for work or an event. Ellen’s pick is so Ellen! I really love this dress. It has a great classic-but-cool vibe. Then, of course, Shannon picked a great shorts set. If you didn’t know, she was raised at the beach, so this totally makes sense.

The Veronica Beard Trunk Show kicks off Thursday, March 5th, at The Hive and our representative, Sabrina, will be there Thursday afternoon and all day Friday to help. Of course, it continues all weekend — and the best part: all Veronica Beard is 20 percent off, including special orders.

Owner | The Shoe Hive/The Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
