Postcards from Lausanne and a Glowing Favorite at Patina

My husband has always wanted to show me where he spent seven years of his life growing up. It just happens to be Switzerland, specifically Lausanne, on the shores of Lake Geneva. So here I am, sitting on our hotel balcony, taking in the incredible scenery as I write this.

We arrived early this morning, and I’m doing my best to fight off a nap and jump right into the new time zone. A little side note: I managed to sprain my left ankle just a week ago. My foot is currently swollen and a lovely mix of bruise shades. But this trip was long planned, and my doctor gave me the green light to travel, so onward I go! We just wrapped up a delicious lunch: I had a classic Niçoise salad, and my husband enjoyed mussels. But since Patina isn’t a travel blog or restaurant review site, let’s move on to something a little closer to home—our gorgeous rechargeable lamps.

We first introduced these lamps in January, and we’ve reordered them several times due to popular demand. As you can see in the photos, they come in a variety of finishes and styles, making it easy to find one that suits your space. Each lamp includes a unique charging stand and is designed for both function and style.

Not only are rechargeable lamps energy-efficient and better for the environment, but they’re also completely cordless, which makes them easy to move from room to room. They’re great to have on hand during blackouts and run for several hours on a single charge. We charge ours overnight and use them throughout the day. Many feature adjustable brightness and are built to last for years.

Come check out our newest arrivals in rechargeable lamps at Patina Polished Living—we think you’ll fall in love with them just like we have.

Patina Polished Living was created 10 years ago by friends Amanda Mertins and Kimberly Weiler.

Amanda Mertins was born in Ohio and graduated the University of Maryland with a degree in Economics. She started moving and editing furniture and accessories while in grade school and hasn’t stopped since. She enjoys baking desserts and playing with her grandchildren.

Kim Weiler was born in Pennsylvania and graduated the University of the Arts with a degree in graphic design. Upon graduating, she was immediately hired by one of her professors at the Katz Wheeler Design firm. She loves design, gardening, sweet tea and all French bulldogs.

Amanda and Kim are excellent complements to one another-one could even say the Yin and Yang of design. Being very different people but with interconnected forces is the reason their partnership continues to flourish.
