The Alexandria Symphony Orchestra Opens Its New Season This Weekend

The Alexandria Symphony Orchestra (ASO) opens its new season on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall & Arts Center, with a second performance Sunday at the George Washington Masonic Memorial. The program features Tchaikovsky’s spiritual Symphony No. 5 and Gershwin’s jazz-tinged Piano Concerto in F, performed by pianist Michelle Cann in her second ASO appearance. Newer works by Alex Berko and Jorge Amado, both inspired by the composers’ travels, round out the concert.
